Michael Gorriz
Michael was appointed Standard Chartered Group Chief Information Officer on March 25, 2015 and is responsible for the banking operations, systems development, and technology infrastructure which underpin the bank’s client services, and defines and implements the bank’s digital and innovation agenda.
Prior to joining Standard Chartered, Michael was Vice President and CIO at Daimler AG where he was globally responsible for strategy, planning, and development of the Group’s IT systems, as well as the operation of its technical infrastructure. During his 14 years at Daimler, Michael progressed through specialist research and design roles in aerospace to general management roles.
He is a physicist and engineer by background and obtained a PhD in Engineering. He is based in Singapore.
Michael enjoys tennis and jogging in his leisure time. He is married and has three daughters.
Michael Ho and Jason Ekberg
Michael Ho is a partner in the Financial Services practice and leads the corporate transaction banking practice and digital asset platform across Asia. He is based in Oliver Wyman’s Hong Kong office. He has extensive consulting experience across Asia, focusing primarily on global transaction banking, corporate banking digitisation, and payments innovation.
Jason is a partner and Global Lead for Digital Assets at Oliver Wyman and co-leads the Forum’s Future of Money initiative. He advises banks, central banks, regulators, and defi natives on digital assets strategy, stablecoins, tokenisation, CBDC and next-generation financial market infrastructure. With more than 30 years across banking, treasury and strategy consulting, he has led large-scale transformations and innovation programs across all major financial centres.
Michael Lafferty
Michael Lafferty founded Lafferty Group in 1981 when he left the Financial Times, where he had been responsible for coverage of the banking industry. He had previously worked on the paper’s LEX team, the City Desk and been accountancy correspondent.
Michel Lowy
Michel Lowy is Co-founder, CEO, and Co-Global Portfolio Manager of SC Lowy, a Hong Kong–based specialist asset manager focused on non-investment grade credit.
Born in Belgium, he began his career in Asian distressed investing after the 1997 financial crisis, working at Cargill before joining Deutsche Bank.
In 1999, he founded and led Deutsche Bank’s Asia-Pacific distressed products group, spending a decade building its regional platform. In 2009, he co-founded SC Lowy with Soo Cheon Lee. Originally a boutique investment bank, the firm has evolved into a global asset manager overseeing more than $1.6b in assets.
Michelle Katics
Michelle Katics is a retail banking risk executive with internationally tested leadership and management skills. More recently, Ms. Katics has focused on sharing risk management and regulatory best practices with executives across the region through training and coaching. In 2010, Ms. Katics founded BankersLab™ , a company which is providing simulation-gaming based risk management training for retail bank executives.
