Visa Inc. launches pilot to send payouts to stablecoin wallets
The system aims to speed up global payments and provide quicker access to funds.
Visa Inc. has launched a pilot programme that lets businesses send payouts directly to recipients’ stablecoin wallets, expanding its use of digital currencies for cross-border payments.
Announced at the Singapore Fintech Festival, the pilot allows Visa Direct users to fund payouts in fiat currency, whilst recipients can choose to receive payments in USD-backed stablecoins such as USDC.
The system aims to speed up global payments and provide quicker access to funds for creators, freelancers, and marketplaces, particularly in regions with currency volatility or limited banking access.
According to the Monetized: Visa 2025 Creator Report, 57% of content creators cite instant access to funds as their top reason for using digital payments.
The service will launch with select partners before a broader rollout in the second half of 2026.
