MocaMoca gets SEC confirmation to operate as Philippine lender

The SEC reportedly introduced a stricter compliance framework in 2026.

MocaMoca, a digital lending platform, has received confirmation from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that it is legally authorised to operate in the Philippines.

SEC confirmed that Copperstone Lending Inc—which operates MocaMoca—holds active registration in the commission's records and is legally authorized to operate as a financing or lending company, subject to continued compliance with Philippine laws and the SEC’s rules, regulations, and issuances.

MocaMoca promises that its app discloses its fees and total cost of borrowing upfront before a loan is confirmed, and that it has no hidden charges.

The SEC has introduced a stricter industry-wide compliance framework under the Memorandum Circular No. 20 (MC 20), Series of 2026.
