UOB sets up board tech committee
The panel will guide digital strategy and oversee technology risk and operational resiliency.
United Overseas Bank (UOB) will establish a Board Technology Committee on 1 July to oversee the bank's technology and digital strategy, technology risk management, operational resiliency, and governance.
UOB said the new committee will comprise Steven Phan Swee Kim as chairman, alongside Wee Ee Cheong, Michael Lien Jown Leam, Chia Tai Tee, and Ong Chong Tee.
The bank also appointed Steven Phan as Lead Independent Director, with effect from 27 July, after Wong Kan Seng completes his nine-year term as an independent director.
"Wong Kan Seng will be redesignated as a Non-Executive and Non-Independent Director with effect from 27 July 2026, and will assume the role of Non-Independent Chairman from the same date," UOB said in a statement.
UOB said Ong Chong Tee will join the Nominating Committee from 1 July, replacing Michael Lien Jown Leam, whilst Wee Ee Cheong will step down from both the Board Risk Management Committee and Executive Committee.
