CommBank names new group CIO and group CTO

Victoria Ledda and Rodrigo Castillo will take over their new roles on 1 July.

Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CommBank or CBA) has appointed a new group chief information officer (CIO) and group chief technology officer (CTO), effective 1 July 2026.

Victoria Ledda has been named group CIO, tasked with leading the bank’s technology strategy and delivery group wide.

Rodrigo Castillo is appointed as group CTO, and is expected to lead CommBank’s enterprise technology foundations, engineering, security, and AI capabilities.

Ledda joined CommBank in 2021 and has held senior leadership positions such as executive general manager for institutional banking & markets technology as well as executive general manager for retail technology.

She spent 15 years at Goldman Sachs prior to joining CommBank. Ledda also sits on the executive board and the Mastercard Advisory Board.

Castillo joined CommBank in 2023 as CTO. Prior to this, he worked at HSBC, where he held senior chief information officer and managing director roles.

The appointments are subject to regulatory approvals.
