Ant International launches protocol for agentic AI payments

10 mobile wallets and 7 acquiring partners will adopt the protocol in the first phase.

Ant International has rolled out an agentic mobile protocol (AMP) globally that enables its partners to deploy artificial intelligence (AI) agents that execute payments.

With the protocol, digital wallets, superapps, smart devices, and other mobile interfaces can enable payments by AI agents.

Ant International said that AMP will enable end-to-end agentic transactions across devices, with no need to switch apps, as well as faster agent integration, with steps required to link a payment agent to a wallet reportedly halved.

It also has an AgentSafePay feature that provides money-back guarantee for merchants against agentic-specific risks, clear boundaries of permission, and a know-your-agent (KYA) framework.

AMP also promises a “high-frequency nano-grade agent-to-agent (A2A) settlement mechanism,” which enables ultra-small transactions as small as $0.000001 between the AI agents, Ant International said.

AMP was first launched in April 2026, with adoption being rolled out across the Alipay+ ecosystem in phases beginning September.

To start, 10 Alipay+ mobile partners will support AMP to start, including China’s Alipay, Hong Kong’s AlipayHK, Indonesia’s DANA, the Philippines’ GCash, South Korea’s KakaoPay, Macao’s MPay, Malaysia’s TNG eWallet, Thailand’s TrueMoney, South Korea’s Toss, and Singapore’s Starryblu.

Acquiring partners for the first phase are Adyen, Allinpay, Checkout.com, Fiserv, Global Payments, Nuvei, and Worldline.
