Barclays nabs Morgan Stanley’s SG wealth chief to lead Asia private banking

Barclays Private Bank India will remain under the leadership of Adrish Ghosh.

Barclays has appointed Wee Yee-Yong as head of private bank Singapore and Asia.

Wee, based in Singapore, will lead Barclays’ private banking business in Singapore and work with teams serving Barclays’ international Asian clients.

Wee joins from Morgan Stanley, where he is currently chief executive and head of sales for the Singapore wealth management business.

Wee brings over two decades of experience building wealth management franchises and advising ultra-high net worth clients across the Asia Pacific. He previously held senior leadership and client coverage roles at Bank of Singapore, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, UBS Wealth Management, and Merrill Lynch.

Wee succeeds Alexander Harrison, who is currently the interim head of Barclays Private Bank Singapore.

Barclays Private Bank India will remain under the leadership of Adrish Ghosh.

Barclays previously announced that it is establishing a private bank booking centre in Singapore.
