DBS rolls out agentic AI credit tool to 1,500 staff globally
Bank aims to cut credit memo preparation time by at least 30%.
DBS has rolled out an agentic artificial intelligence (AI) tool to 1,500 employees globally to help prepare credit assessments for large and mid-sized corporate clients.
The system uses specialised AI agents to handle more than 70 tasks and combine information from annual reports, industry research, and internal records into a review-ready first draft of a credit memo.
The launch follows a pilot involving 150 participants.
The bank said it targets at least a 30% reduction in the time employees spend preparing credit memos and carrying out related credit activities. Such work can also account for up to 40% of a relationship manager’s time.
Relationship managers and credit risk managers can work with the agents to refine the initial draft, conduct further research, and incorporate industry expertise, client knowledge, and business context into the final memo, it added.
Han Kwee Juan, group head of institutional banking at DBS, said the system was designed to capture the knowledge and insights of experienced relationship and credit risk managers.
“This in turn helps our relationship managers to pivot their time and focus on partnering with our clients to drive growth for their business and for our credit risk managers to proactively manage risks,” Han added.
