EastWest proposes $145.72m stock rights offering

The Philippine bank plans to scale up its wealth and priority banking propositions.

EastWest Banking Corporation is raising approximately $145.72m (PHP9b) through a proposed stock rights offering (SRO) in the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE).

The Philippine-based bank said that the proposed SRO was approved by its board on 27 August 2026.

It will be backed by its major shareholders, Filinvest Development Corporation and FDC Ventures, Inc, EastWest said in a bourse filing.

Proceeds will be used for EastWest’s expansion plans, including scaling up its wealth and priority banking propositions.

EastWest also said that it plans to invest in transformative digital technologies as well as fund loan growth with the proceeds.

AB Capital & Investment Corporation was tapped as the Issue Manager and Sole Underwriter for the issuance.  

EastWest is the banking arm of the Filinvest Group. As of June 2026, it has $10.1b (PHP623.9b) in total assets, and a loan portfolio of $5.47b (PHP337.6b).
