Philippines’ Metrobank names Anthony Yap head of institutional banking sector

He currently serves as Chairman of ORIX Metro Leasing and Finance.

Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company has appointed Anthony Paul C. Yap as Head of the Institutional Banking Sector, effective 1 January 2027.

Yap brings 29 years of banking experience across trading, treasury, branch banking, corporate banking, and overseas banking.

He currently serves as Chairman of ORIX Metro Leasing and Finance and as a Non-Executive Director of Metropolitan Bank (China) Ltd.

Since 1 July, he has been the Deputy Sector Head of the Institutional Banking Sector, supporting leadership transition within the division.

The board approved the move at its regular meeting on 16 September, per a disclosure filed with the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission.
