ANZ reclassifies loans and revenues in divisional reporting overhaul
It now presents its net fee and commissions income separately.
ANZ is changing the way it reports the performances of its divisions, reclassifying loans and revenues.
The Australian bank reclassified its home loans and associated offset accounts for business & private bank (B&PB) customers from Australia retail to B&PB.
A share of ANZ’s markets’ foreign exchange (FX) and payments & cash management (PCM) revenues that is generated from its Australian retail, B&PB, and New Zealand division customers will now be recognized in the respective retail and B&PB divisions in its Australia and in New Zealand. Previously, these were reported in the institutional division.
ANZ expects the change to strengthen accountability, and aligns between product manufacturing and distribution.
ANZ also reduced costs and capital in the Group Centre by reallocating to divisions. This move reduces operating expenses in the Group Centre from 13% to 9% in March 2026.
ANZ also now presents net fee and commission income separately on its income statement. Previously it was only presented in the notes of the bank’s financial statements.
