South Koreans’ internet banking use up 6.9% in H1

There are about 18.82 million use cases per day in Korea.

South Korea's use of internet banking services rose 6.9% in the first six months of 2022 compared to the second half of 2021, reports Yonhap, based on data released by the Bank of Korea (BOK).

The country logged 18.82 million daily use cases of online banking service from January to June this year, central bank data showed. This is higher than the 17.61 million use cases from July to December 2021.

Notably, mobile banking use rose by 9.2% to 16.93 million uses per day, according to BOK.

Internet banking daily transaction value hit $54b (KRW75.1t), also 2.8% higher than in the six months prior.
