Alipay Tap! crosses 200 million users

It lets users pay by tapping their unlocked phone on a payment terminal.

Alipay Tap! has reportedly grown its user base to 200 million since launching in June 2024.

This comes just months after surpassing 100 million users in April 2025, Alipay said in a press release on 11 September 2025.

Alipay Tap! lets users complete a transaction or access a service by simply tapping their unlocked phone on a merchant’s terminal or Alipay Tap! Tag. This eliminates the need to open an app, scan a code, or navigate multiple screens.
