SBI Holdings forms digital asset JV with Mesh and Money Forward
The JV aims for seamless asset transfers between crypto exchanges and digital wallets.
SBI Holdings, a Japanese financial services group, is establishing a joint venture (JV) for digital assets with Mesh, a crypto payments network provider, and fintech Money Forward.
The JV, which they will set-up in Japan in 2026, will facilitate digital asset purchases, transfers, and payments.
It will make use of SBI Groups’ financial services infrastructure and expertise in regulatory compliance in Japan, combined with Meshs’ API-based connectivity infrastructure and products.
Money Forward, an existing shareholder of Mesh, will participate in management support to help the JV expand its business in Japan.
The JV will focus primarily on the Japanese market, SBI Holdings said.
The JV said that it may expand into connectivity and payment services involving stablecoins and tokenised assets.
