Krungsri maps out FX strategy with digital and currency expansion push

The Thai bank said it will deliver more tailored risk management solutions.

Bank of Ayudhya (Krungsri) set out its foreign exchange (FX) business strategy for 2026, with a focus on advancing digital FX channels and expanding cross-border currency capabilities.

Krungsri Global Markets aim to actively develop and extend capabilities across client digital platforms, the Thai-based bank said in an announcement on 22 July.

Areas of focus include improving capabilities of its online FX transactions via FX@Krunsgri, integrating its client platforms within KRungsri’s FX API, and offering market updates and insights through the Krungsri FX LINE Official Account.

Krungsri is also expanding its range of supported currencies, and now supports South Korean won, the UAE dirham, and the Saudi riyal, the bank said.

Krungsri also aims to deliver more tailored risk management solutions by combining FX Option structures to better match client-specific exposures. The Thai bank is also better leveraging its MUFG-connection in providing investment solutions.

Krungsri Global Markets’ gains on trading and FX transactions have grown at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 16% over the past five-year period, according to Hirotaka Kuroki, head of the global markets group.
