Vietnam’s HDBank taps TerraPay for real-time cross-border payments

TerraPay will manage delivery to overseas bank accounts and digital wallets.

Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City Development Joint Stock Commercial Bank (HDBank) has partnered with TerraPay for real-time outbound international payments.

HDBank customers will gain access to TerraPay’s global payment network spanning over 156 countries and territories, according to a joint statement on 29 July 2026.

Customers will initiate international payments through HDBank whilst TerraPay manages delivery to overseas bank accounts and digital wallets.

HDBank will leverage its existing SWIFT connectivity to offer the cross-border payment service without need for “significant capital expenditure, technology upgrades, and complex integrations,” the statement said.

Partnering with TerraPay enables HDBank to bring real-time international payments with minimal infrastructure change in the bank, said Huynh Trung Minh, director of bancassurance and affiliate partner development at HDBank.

Another Vietnamese commercial bank, TPBank, had also partnered with TerraPay to enable international payments.
