HDBank H1 profit jumps 31% as subsidiaries deliver strong gains
It reported a pre-tax profit of VND13.2t (US$505m).
The Ho Chi Minh City Development Joint Stock Commercial Bank reported a pre-tax profit of VND13.2t (US$505m) in the first-half of 2026, reflecting a 31% year-on-year growth.
Amongst its subsidiaries, HD SAISON posted pre-tax profit of more than VND804b (US$30.6m), whilst HD Securities reported VND1.47t (US$55.9m), up 286% YoY.
Its return on equity is at 25.4%, and return on assets is at 2.17%. Meanwhile, operating income rose 8.8% YoY to VND22.68t (US$862.8m), with non-interest income up 23.1% YoY.
The company’s total assets also increased by 12.3% from the beginning of the year to VND1.04q (US$39.6 billion) as of 30 June.
However, outstanding loans grew 18.8% to VND698.36t (US$266b), with lending focused on manufacturing, SMEs, agriculture, infrastructure, supply chains and consumer finance.
The bank also secured a US$721m international syndicated social loan, the largest such loan ever successfully raised by a Vietnamese organisation.
