Mashreq receives two accolades at Asian Banking & Finance Corporate & Investment Banking Awards 2026
Mashreq wins two awards for digitising Trade Asset Sell-downs and launching GenAI-powered mobile onboarding for its Corporate Clients.
Mashreq has been recognised with two accolades at the Asian Banking & Finance Corporate & Investment Banking Awards 2026, celebrating the bank’s digital innovation across corporate and investment banking.
The awards recognise two distinctive capabilities: the digitisation of the Trade Asset Sell-down Distribution journey and the launch of GenAI-powered digital onboarding for corporate clients. Together, these solutions demonstrate how Mashreq is using emerging technologies to simplify complex banking processes, enhance client experiences, and empower relationship managers (RMs) with smarter digital tools.
Building on its innovation-led approach, Mashreq continues to combine artificial intelligence, digital capabilities, and strategic fintech partnerships to create scalable solutions that deliver measurable business value. From transforming asset distribution to enabling mobile-led corporate onboarding, the bank is shaping faster, more connected experiences across the corporate banking journey.
Transforming Trade Asset Distribution through a digital-first platform
The Trade Asset Sell-down Platform (on PULSE) represents a significant advancement in digital asset distribution, providing an integrated solution that supports the complete sell-down lifecycle – from identifying eligible assets and matching investors to pricing, negotiations, documentation, execution, portfolio tracking, liquidation, and bundled asset sales.
By connecting multiple stages of the distribution journey through a single platform, Mashreq has created a more transparent, scalable, and efficient ecosystem for issuing banks, investors, and internal teams.
Issuing banks benefit from enhanced transaction capacity, faster execution, and improved distribution certainty. Investors gain access to targeted opportunities with greater transparency and accelerated booking, whilst internal teams benefit from real-time pipeline visibility, improved transaction tracking, and stronger revenue optimisation capabilities.
The platform has enabled significant commercial growth by supporting multi-fold increases in sell-down volumes without additional headcount requirements, whilst improving visibility and execution across the asset distribution lifecycle.
Initially developed to support asset selection by RMs and investor negotiation workflows by the distribution team, the platform has continuously evolved with enhanced capabilities, including automated documentation and execution workflows, transaction bundling, and amendment of booked deals.
Having successfully transformed its internal trade asset distribution capabilities, Mashreq continued to evolve the platform's value proposition beyond the bank. Through NeoVentures – the innovative arm of Mashreq's corporate venture capital fund – has partnered with TraydStream, a global trade digitisation platform, to launch TraydFund, a pioneering platform designed to meet the unique needs of small- to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). With a key pressing challenge faced by SMEs being access to trade finance, the platform unlocks new sources of liquidity by transforming static trade assets into dynamic, investable opportunities. Now live in the market, TraydFund has already secured new clients, demonstrating early adoption and commercial momentum.
Empowering relationship managers with genAI-powered mobile onboarding
To enhance RM capabilities and create a more seamless corporate onboarding experience, Mashreq has integrated corporate onboarding capabilities into PULSE – its mobile platform that equips RMs with digital tools, client insights, and real-time capabilities to support customer engagement.
Powered by generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), the solution intelligently reads and understands trade licences, extracts key information, and automatically populates onboarding forms. This enables RMs to progress onboarding activities digitally while remaining focused on client needs.
The capability enables RMs to initiate and progress corporate onboarding during client interactions, reducing follow-up activities and accelerating customer activation. By combining mobile accessibility with GenAI-powered document intelligence, the solution automates information capture, improves data accuracy, standardises onboarding workflows, and enhances RM productivity – enabling onboarding completion in under two minutes.
By embedding intelligence directly into the RM workflow, Mashreq has created a scalable foundation for expanding AI-driven automation across corporate banking services. Future enhancements will focus on extending GenAI capabilities to support additional corporate documents and banking journeys, further improving automation, efficiency, and user experience.
Through the combination of AI innovation, digital platforms, and continuous user-driven enhancements, Mashreq continues to deliver smarter and more connected corporate banking experiences.
