JCB and Hanoi Metro sign MOU for contactless fare gate payments

The service is expected to provide greater convenience for tourists.

JCB International and the Hanoi Metro have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to introduce JCB transit on Hanoi’s urban railway metro.

Under the MOU, JCB cardmembers will be able to use their JCB contactless cards or compatible devices to tap directly at metro fare gates of Hanoi, Vietnam. The target launch is in early 2027.

The service is expected to provide greater convenience for tourists, likely from Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan, according to JCB.

JCB International and Hanoi Metro said that they will work closely together to complete the necessary preparations.
