Chubb and Atome launch shopping fraud cover

Cardholders can seek reimbursement when goods arrive damaged or fail to arrive.

Chubb Philippines and buy-now-pay-later platform, Atome Philippines, partnered to launch a shopping insurance plan with personal accident benefits for its cardholders.

The Atome Card Shield is available for $0.99 (P62) a month and provides buyer and purchase protection, online shopping fraud and unauthorised transaction coverage, and personal accident benefits.

Under the plan, policyholders can claim for online purchases if an insured item does not arrive, does not match the seller’s description, or is accidentally damaged or stolen within 30 days of purchase.

Reimbursement is available up to the value of the purchase.

The plan also covers purchases made through fraudulent websites or fake sellers, as well as unauthorised transactions made using an Atome Card.

Policyholders are also entitled to benefits of up to $2,400 (P150,000) for accidental death and accidental permanent disablement.

The product is available through the Atome app to users aged 18 to 75 who are in good credit standing.
