NAB and IBA launch guarantee for First Nations business loans

IBA will guarantee up to 50%.

National Australia Bank (NAB) and the Indigenous Business Australia (IBA) have launched a corporate guarantee enabling First Nations businesses to obtain lending of up to A$1m.

Under the initiative, the IBA will guarantee up to 50% of the loan amount.

The initiative is part of NAB’s goal of lending A$1b to Australia’s estimated 5,200 registered First Nations business and community organisations, NAB said in an online post on 1 June 2026.

NAB and IBA signed a memorandum of understanding in 2023.
