ASB Bank CEO Vittoria Shortt to step down

CBA’s Sinead Taylor will lead ASB Bank beginning 12 December.

ASB Bank Limited’s chief executive officer and managing director Vittoria Shortt is stepping down after nearly nine years in the role.

Sinead Taylor, group executive for institutional banking and markets at Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA), will take over as ASB Bank’s CEO and managing director beginning 12 December 2026.

ASB Bank is a wholly owned subsidiary of CBA.

Shortt has worked at the CBA Group for over two decades and led ASB’s over 7,000 staff for nearly a decade.

Taylor, meanwhile, joined CBA Group in 2008 and has held senior leadership roles within CBA and Bankwest, including group executive chief operations officer and executive general manager at Bankwest.

A process has commenced to identify Taylor’s successor as group executive for institutional banking and markets at CBA.
