Mizuho Q1 profit surges 45.5% to $2.64b in Q1 on stronger fees
Mizuho reported a strong fee business mainly with domestic corporates.
Mizuho Financial Group has logged a profit of $2.64b (JPY422.91b) in the Q1 2026 period that ended on 30 June, its latest financial statement showed.
Profit is 45.5% year-on-year (YoY) higher compared to the same quarter in the previous fiscal year.
The “significant” profit growth was due to its strong fee business, mainly with domestic corporates, as well as increased equity flows, the Japanese megabank said.
Ordinary income is up 18.3% YoY to $15.71b (JPY2.52t), whilst ordinary profits surged 62.5% YoY to $3.73b (JPY598.97b).
Earnings per share of common stock is JPY173.53 for Q1 FY2026, compared to JPY115.9 in Q1 FY2025.
Mizuho aims for a cash dividend of JPY150 in total for the fiscal year.
