Citi to slash 3,500 jobs in China

Layoffs will affect its global tech solution centres in Shanghai and Dalian.

Citi China will be cutting approximately 3,500 technology roles,according to an announcement.

Layoffs will affect Citi’s global technology solution centers in Shanghai and Dalian. The bank plans to reduce the size of its offices in the two cities.

Citi expects to complete what it calls “technical realignments” by the start of Q4 2025.
