Bangkok Bank bookmarked $1.09b in cash for Songkran 2024

The cash was expected to have served over 8,000 ATMs and branches.

Bangkok Bank reserved THB40b (approximately $1.09b) in cash for the expected higher cash demand during the Songkran 2024 festival, which took place from 12-16 April 2024.

The cash was expected to have served more than 8,000 Bangkok Bank ATMs and branches nationwide during the period.

During this time, people spend more on goods, gifts, food, and drink to celebrate the Songkran festival, with many traveling to other provinces or back to their hometowns to receive blessings from their senior relatives during Thai New Year, Bangkok Bank noted in a statement.
