Mastercard hires marketing veteran as VP and head of marketing and comms for SEA

Dheeraj Raina had worked for several advertising and media firms.

Mastercard has appointed Dheeraj Raina as vice president and head of integrated marketing and communications (IMC) for Southeast Asia.

Raina will be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He is expected to lead a team that cuts across brand, consumer marketing, product marketing, sponsorships and communications, and work closely with business leads and country managers to facilitate business growth.

Raina is also tasked with boosting consumer engagement through Mastercard’s long-standing marketing platform, Priceless; and will be part of the payment network giant’s Southeast Asia Leadership Team.

He brings over 18 years of marketing experience in his new role. Prior to joining Mastercard, Raina has held senior leadership roles at several of the world’s largest media agencies and has served as CEO of Dentsu Malaysia.

He also previously served as managing director of Mindshare Malaysia, where he was responsible for overall business growth, working with major clients, and managing diverse specialist teams.
