Barclays launches Singapore private bank booking centre

The bank said that it strengthens its ability to service UHNW clients and family offices.

Barclays is launching a private bank booking centre in Singapore.

Clients can access banking, lending, investments and wealth planning services through the centre.

Barclays expects the new booking centre to strengthen its ability to service its ultra-high net worth (UHNW) clients and family offices in Singapore.

“Singapore is one of the world's leading wealth hubs, and this investment strengthens our ability to serve internationally connected clients while reinforcing our long-term commitment to Asia Pacific,” said Sasha Wiggins, CEO of Barclays Private Bank and Wealth Management.

Asia Pacific is expected to become the world’s largest wealth market by 2030, whilst an estimated $5.8t of wealth is set to transfer between generations across the region over the same period, Barclays said, citing data from McKinsey & Company.

Whether clients require lending, investment advice or support with complex family wealth and succession planning, the private banking centre can connect them to the right expertise across Barclays, said Annabelle Bryde, head of Barclays Private Bank International.

“The new platform makes it easier for clients to access the full breadth of Barclays’ capabilities through one integrated team,” Bryde said.
