Mastercard names Beena Pothen division president for West Southeast Asia

She was previously country manager for Malaysia and Brunei.

Mastercard has appointed Beena Pothen as division president, West Southeast Asia. Pothen will lead Mastercard’s business across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei, and Myanmar.

Pothen was previously country manager for Malaysia and Brunei.

Her appointment comes with the introduction of Mastercard’s two-division leadership structure in Southeast Asia.

Mastercard said that Pothen has a strong track record of growing customer relationships, expanding connected ecosystems, and collaborating with governments, financial institutions, and industry stakeholders in digital transformation.

Pothen expects that her role will help shape the next chapter of digital commerce for businesses, governments and consumers in the region.
