Standard Chartered to offer digital asset custody to SG institutional clients
It is expected to complement the bank’s financing & securities services in Singapore.
Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) announced plans to offer custody services for selected crypto assets, stablecoins, and tokenised real-world assets.
The digital asset custody services will be offered to its institutional clients and accredited investor corporate clients in Singapore.
The planned custody service is expected to complement Standard Chartered’s financing & securities services capabilities in Singapore. The bank said that this will bring together traditional asset servicing, tokenisation, and digital asset custody.
Robust infrastructure will be critical to supporting the secure movement, safekeeping, and servicing of tokenised assets at an institutional scale, said Patrick Lee, CEO of Singapore and ASEAN & South Asia at Standard Chartered.
