Skyro secures Malaysia digital moneylending license
It will offer cash loans and introduce other credits products over time.
Skyro, a credit platform, has secured a moneylending licence in Malaysia.
The company’s Malaysian entity now holds a moneylender’s licence from the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT), authorising it to conduct online moneylending Malaysia.
This is Skyro’s second market in Southeast Asia after the Philippines, according to a 29 September 2026 announcement. Skyro plans to use the same approach it used in the Philippines to scale Malaysia.
Skyro uses artificial intelligence (AI)-based scoring tools and alternative data to assess creditworthiness, said its co-founder and co-CEO Arsen Liametov.
Skyro plans to enter the Malaysian market with cash loans and intends to introduce further credit products over time.
Skyro has disbursed over $600m in loans since its founding in 2022, has a user base of 7 million, and reached operating break-even in the first half of 2026.
