Citi has appointed Asghar Ali as head of corporate banking real estate

Prior to his new role, Ali has been based in Hong Kong since 2007.

Citi has appointed Asghar Ali as head of corporate banking real estate, effective immediately.

Prior to his new role, Ali was based in Hong Kong since 2007, where he has led Citi’s leveraged finance business for Asia Pacific and loan origination for ASEAN, India, and Australia.

He had also previously served senior roles in the global loans and leveraged finance groups, when he was based in New York, USA.

Ali will now be based back in New York, reporting to Jason Rekate and John Chirico, co-heads corporate banking.

Ali will also join the corporate banking executive committee.
