HSBC appoints Nick Elias to lead wealth AI push
Elias will helm HSBC’s Wealth Transformation Programme.
HSBC has appointed Nicholas "Nick" Elias as head of wealth platforms, Wealth and Premier Solutions, effective 15 August 2026.
Elias will lead HSBC to further embed AI into platforms and services, the bank said in a statement.
Elias will lead HSBC’s Wealth Transformation Programme to build a future-proof wealth business model. This includes scaling Wealth Intelligence, HSBC’s generative AI platform that offers market insights and personalised investment strategies.
Elias first joined HSBC in 2012 and is currently global head of customer relationship management within the Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) chief operating office (COO) function.
He has held multiple leadership roles in HSBC across frontline corporate banking, wholesale banking and frontline transformation, the bank said.
HSBC Private Bank has recently announced leadership changes in its India and Taiwan units. Edward Chiu was named as onshore Taiwan market head effective 1 June, and Gautam Anand was appointed as head of Global India effective 24 April.
Separately, it rolled out HSBC Access which enables ultra-high net worth (UHNW) and family office clients the ability to invest directly in select technology and start-up companies.
