Citi processes live Swift blockchain transactions with OCBC and FAB

Citi expects to conduct similar transactions with DBS and UOB later in September.

Citi has successfully processed live transactions in Swift’s blockchain-based ledger, collaborating with Singapore’s Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation (OCBC) and the United Arab Emirates’ First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB).

Citi said that it is the first US bank to conduct live native ledger transactions.

Citi expects to conduct similar transactions with other key collaborators later in September 2026, including DBS and United Overseas Bank (UOB).

The live transactions are part of Citi’s Services business to advance its digital asset capabilities across cash and securities.

Citi said that it builds on its 24/7 USD Clearing, Citi Token Services, and Citi Custody+ services to enable real-time, multi-bank, cross-border payments.
