KBZ Bank and TrueMoney link up to enable direct transfer services

It is expected to benefit Myanmar migrant workers in Thailand.

TrueMoney and KBZ Bank have jointly launched a cross-border remittance service that is expected to benefit Myanmar migrant workers in Thailand.

Customers can transfer funds directly from their TrueMoney Wallet in Thailand to a KBZPay account or KBZ Bank account in Myanmar.

Remittances sent by Myanmar migrant workers across different countries reached approximately $5.6b in 2025, equivalent approximately to 4% of Myanmar’s gross domestic product, according to the joint statement by TrueMoney and KBZ Bank on 1 September 2026.

TrueMoney Myanmar is a member of Ascend Money, a Thai digital wallet provider, whilst KBZ Bank is Myanmar’s largest privately-owned bank.

TrueMoney serves 30 million users in Thailand and has over 30,000 agents in Myanmar, whilst KBZPay is the most widely used mobile wallet in Myanmar, said U Tun Tun Linn, country managing director of TrueMoney Myanmar.
