OCBC Q2 net profit climbs 22% to $2.2b on higher non-interest income
Total income rose 18% to $4.17b during the quarter.
Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation Limited’s (OCBC) net profit grew 22% to $2.22b in the second quarter of 2026, up from $1.82b a year earlier.
Total income increased 18% to $4.17b. However, net interest income slipped 1% to $2.26b as net interest margin narrowed by 22 basis points to 1.7% in a lower interest rate environment.
Meanwhile, non-interest income jumped 51% to $1.91b during the quarter.
For the first half, OCBC’s net profit grew 13% to $4.19b, whilst total income rose 11% to $8b.
Wealth management income went up by 27% to $3.29b and accounted for 41% of the bank’s total income. Banking wealth management assets under management rose 13% to $350b.
Customer loans increased 11% year-on-year (YoY) on a constant-currency basis to $364b as at end-June, whilst customer deposits rose 13% to $459b.
The non-performing loan ratio remained at 0.9%, whilst total non-performing asset coverage stood at 163%. First-half credit costs were unchanged at 18 basis points.
The bank declared an interim dividend of 47 cents per share, up 15% YoY from 41 cents. The payout amounts to $2.11b, about 50% of first-half net profit.
