OCBC offers platinum and palladium to retail investors
Platinum is priced at S$23 per 0.01 ounces and palladium at S$18 as of 7 August.
OCBC has extended platinum and palladium bullion in the precious metals offerings to retail customers.
Through the mobile app, OCBC mass retail customers can invest in the two metals from as little as 0.01 ounces, priced at about S$23 for platinum and S$18 for palladium as of 7 August 2026, the Singapore-headquartered bank said in a statement.
Access to platinum and palladium through the local banks has been limited to affluent customers previously, OCBC said.
OCBC Group Research forecasts spot prices of platinum and palladium to exceed US$2,000 and US$1,500 respectively by the first half of 2027, up from US$1833 and US$1389 as of end-June 2026.
Tan Siew Lee, OCBC’s head of group wealth management, said that the bank is strengthening its position as a leading wealth management player and as the go-to bank for precious metals.
“By combining fractional investment with a seamless digital experience, we have lowered the precious metals investment barrier to entry for all our customers,” Tan said.
Earlier this year, OCBC enabled eligible clients to buy, sell, and custodise physical gold through a Singapore-based vault.
