Manulife hires HSBC banker for Asia CFO role

Ming Lau was most recently the CFO for HSBC Asia Pacific and the Middle East.

Manulife has appointed Ming Lau as chief financial officer for Asia, beginning May 2026.

Lau brings 30 years of experience in his new role and was most recently CFO for HSBC Asia Pacific and the Middle East.

He has held senior roles in both Asisa and Canada, including as CFO of HSBC China and CFO of HSBC Global Commercial Banking.

Lau reports to Colin Simpson, CFO, Manulife.
