OCBC, ZGC International partner to target China-ASEAN tech flows

The bank gains access to the enterprise’s 14,000-firm technology network.

OCBC has entered a strategic cooperation agreement with Beijing state-owned enterprise ZGC International to support high-growth Chinese technology companies expanding into ASEAN.

The bank will gain access to ZGC’s network of technology parks and innovation clusters, representing over 14,000 technology companies across Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shandong, Guangxi, and Guangzhou.

The partnership will focus on artificial intelligence (AI), life sciences, software services, and advanced manufacturing.

OCBC said the move comes as the number of new Chinese companies it supported in establishing a presence in ASEAN rose 50% year-on-year in 2025, compared with 30% growth in 2024.

Both organisations will also hold joint events, technology park visits, business-matching sessions, and overseas business delegations.

One engagement was held at the ZGC Beijing Software Park in June, where OCBC met 25 representatives from AI and advanced manufacturing companies.

The agreement was signed on 31 July by ZGC International Deputy General Manager Lu Peng and OCBC Head of Global Commercial Banking Elaine Heng.
