Wealthtech on track for lowest funding since 2018
Wealth players are expected to engage low and middle end of the market to increase scale and reach.
The wealth technology (wealthtech) space is on track to log its lowest level of investment in 2018, raising just $220m globally in the first half of 2026.
In 2025, the space raised $1.4b raised across 74 deals, KPMG said in its H1 Pulse of Fintech report published in October.
There were 32 deals so far in 2026, the largest tied to US-based asset management platform GeoWealth’s $42.5m private equity growth round.
Wealthtech investments varied per region, with the Asia Pacific market seeing significant focus on managing the generational wealth transfer, KPMG said. In the US, the focus was wealth creation.
Regulators are helping drive artificial intelligence (AI) use in the wealth management space, with KPMG naming the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s (MAS) recent guidance at cutting onboarding times as a key driver.
“Investment is increasingly focused on AI-powered advisory tools that augment advisors and help them serve more clients effectively,” said Leon Ong, partner, financial services consulting, KPMG in Singapore.
Ong sees adoption continuing to expand as confidence in the technology and its risk management grows.
For H2, KPMG expects wealth management players for ways to engage the low and middle end of the market in order to increase their scale and reach.
