Central banks of Thailand, Vietnam hold bilateral meeting

The central bank representatives discussed banking and policy issues.

The Bank of Thailand (BOT) and the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) held a bilateral meeting on 27 SEptember 2024 at Hanoi, Vietnam.

BOT Governor Sethaput Suthiwartnarueput and SBV Governor Nguyen Thi Hong joined central bank delegates to discuss banking and macroeconomic topics during the meeting.

The discussion covered topics of macroeconomic and policy challenges, issues related to banking supervision, measures to combat financial fraud, and local currency promotion. 

The meeting also explored potential initiatives to enhance cooperation between the two central banks, the BOT said in a statement posted on its website.
