Citi poaches J.P. Morgan’s global chemicals IB co-head

Chris Power will co-lead Citi’s global chemicals franchise with Arkadi Nachimowski.

Citi has appointed Chris Power as co-head of Chemicals Investment Banking (CIB) franchise.

Power will co-lead the global chemicals franchise alongside Arkadi Nachimowski, who joined Citi just this week, according to an announcement on 29 September 2026.

Power joins from J.P. Morgan, where he was global co-head of chemicals investment banking.

Paul Smith will continue as global chair of chemicals to provide strategic direction to the Citi franchise he helped build, the announcement said.

Together Power, Nachimowski, and Smith are expected to drive the next phase of growth for Citi’s CIB franchise.

Citi recently appointed a Bank of America veteran, Sophia Wang, as managing director and head of China financial institutional sales.

The bank also laid out plans to increase its headcount by 25% for its North Asia and Japan corporate banking desk network.
