Mizuho and IFC launch $1b supply chain finance facility for APAC SMEs
IFC will provide up to $500m in risk-sharing for supply chain finance instruments.
Mizuho Bank has launched a $1b risk-sharing facility with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) for financing of suppliers and distributors in the Asia Pacific.
Over the next three years, IFC will provide up to $500m in risk-sharing for a portfolio of supply chain finance instruments, including payables finance, receivables financing, and pre-shipment financing programs.
Mizuho Bank said that the facility aims to address working capital constraints faced by suppliers and distributors, particular small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in APAC.
“By enabling businesses to obtain financing linked to the credit strength of their buyers,
supply chain finance can help companies meet production needs, scale operations, and create jobs,” the Japanese megabank said in an announcement on 29 September 2026.
The facility was structured through the IFC’s Global Supply Chain Finance program.
