HSBC Private Bank names Edward Chiu as onshore Taiwan market head

Chiu has led the Premier Elite business of HSBC Taiwan since 2024.

HSBC has appointed Edward Chiu as onshore Taiwan market head, HSBC Private Bank, effective 1 June 2026.

In his new role, Chiu will lead the onshore private banking business in Taiwan.

Chiu has served as head of Premier Elite at HSBC Taiwan since 2024. Prior to joining HSBC, he held senior leadership roles at DBS and Citibank.

He has over 20 years of leadership experience in wealth management and affluent banking across Taiwan.

Chiu reports to Kanas Chan, head of private bank, North Asia and Hong Kong.

HSBC has ramped up its wealth services over the past few months. In Singapore, the bank refreshed its mobile app and expanded its wealth services on offer. In Hong Kong, it rolled out the invitation-only Privé World Legend Mastercard.
